I'm looking to replace my samsung a630, reception and battery life kinda suck. I'm looking for a phone that has:
- Good battery life. It's the worst when you're away from home with a dead phone. I'm willing to sacrifice features if that'll help (I hear bluetooth and gps can eat up the battery if they're not turned off) I'd also buy an extended battery for the phone if available.
- Good service. I don't have a land-line so it has to be decent. For verizon, this would problably mean a tri-band phone, right? Maybe and extendable antenna?
- Needs to be reliable. I want this thing to be able to take a mild beating. I'm not bad with phones, but I don't want to be worrying about it all the time.
- Smaller is better, but if a phone is bigger in order to get better battery life , I can deal.
- I don't have a ton of cash to blow, but I might save up / sell some of my stuff if it's a particularly good phone.
- Vibrate, I hate being "that guy" with their phone ringing loudly at the worst moment possible.
All I want to do with this phone is call people, store numbers and text, which is standard nowadays. Anything else doesn't really matter. Heck, I don't even care if it has a color screen. I'm even thinking about picking up a discontinued phone from ebay if it's going to be good. I've heard some of the older motorolas are good. Some people have said good stuff about samsung. I've had an LG crap out on me so I'm not keen on them. Anyone have stories about amazing service, durability and battery life from a verizon/alltel/other cdma phone?
Thanks in advance for tapping your knowlege.
