Looking for a sculptor who made a wooden staircase sculpture in a shoe shop.?

I saw him featured on a documentary on the bbc years ago and want to know his name and who he is. He created a wooden staircase scuplture which featured in a shoe shop and also made massive tall spiralling sculptures which went into lobbies of office buildings. He is a British sculptor. Any ideas??
