Okay I don't remember the names of the characters but I do remember this book was the first of a series. It deals with this noble-man who has supernatural powers. I forgot what his are but his brother can leave his body behind and wander around the countryside. This is the story of his older brother who's bride is traveling to his country estate and she thinks he's a nice guy because the solicitor gave her a portrait of his boss (the nobleman) and he looks nice. The books is basically about her and him getting to know each other and falling in love with some evil being in the background. I don't know the time period but it takes place in England around Austen's Pride and Prejudice time I think. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
