...month's gardening leave?? Help!? Essentially I am returning to the workforce with one of my past competitors after a month’s gardening leave at my previous employer (I worked my month’s notice at home), and would like a funky, but professional way to let my clients know where I’ve moved to. This is allowed by my contract, so don’t worry about the legalities of it all. I work in recruitment (sales environment). I want this to be professional but show some personality and thoughtfulness. I would ideally want something I can post (I was thinking wine but it’s slightly....boring), and I don’t mind spending a few hundred dollars.....

I can only send this from January 10th, so nothing related to NY – but we do a National Holiday coming up (Australia Day???). Not sold that this would be a fantastic theme, but worth contemplating.

Please feel free to write ideas of the actual message, and what format I should send it in (letter, card, et cetera).

Many Thanks :),
Px.

How about buying each of your clients a potplant. I don't mean like one just out of K-Mart.... maybe a seasonal flower (native flower even) and put it in a terracotta pot with a note attached to it. You could use those plastic card holders you get in bunches of flowers. Inside the note or card you could give out new details, etc. Of course you can't post pot plants but you could hire someone to deliver them on your behalf (like a family friend or similar).
