They're in late high school. She is a truant, and on the wrong path. He is super-intelligent but doing it tough and catches multiple buses to and from school each day. Her dad is a politician and drives an electric car, has a big house on a hill with lots of windows, etc.
Can't remember much more, and have googled like you wouldn't believe with no luck. It's not save the last dance, even though that has similar protagonists. It's not a dance theme, more a coming of age theme in some ways.
