My wife has given me the green light to start researching home stereo/surround systems, so I need some help. Here's my basics...my TV is a 50" Panasonic plasma. I use the TV with a PS3 for blu-ray, and we have a Wii on it as well (if any of that matters). We have DirecTV with the HD and all that junk too...And I'd also like it to be iPod accessible, as in not just having an auxillary plug, but I want to be able to control the iPod through the stereo, just like if it was a CD.
Currently I have a small living room it would be going in, but I want this to be a good one that will last a bit and be good in a larger living room down the road.
I don't want to spend a crap load...but I also don't want a piece of junk. (would like to be under $1000, and that's at the absolute most...would prefer $500-700).
Any help with this? Good brands to look into? What kind of specs should I pay attention to as far as power and frequencies and all that? Any info would help...thanks!
