i'm looking for a good Android phone (other than the Samsung Galaxy S) that is good on the music front. i'm looking for something that has the following features:

1. the ability to edit/make a playlist on-the-fly (without the use of a software)

2. have the ability to add songs to the playlist on-the-fly

4. the ability to customise the EQ settings on ALL or a particular song to my liking.

5. some form of surround/3D/propreitory sound enhancing feature

6. one that supports most audio formats (like WMA, MP3 and Flac)

my budget is between ?150 to ?250 region

any sugestions please....?

thanks.

I was gonna say any Galaxy S phone but u ruled that out. The X10 is a good one but it'll probably b stuck on 2.1 forever.

Check out thee almighty LG GT540, i got it recently, and the music player on that one's sweet.
better quality than the SE vivaz too.
If you like videos too it's got AVI support.

i have been hearing that in terms of battery life and overall build (and quality) the LG phones are not that good. i could be wrong. i did had an LG Viewty before and it was full of bugs and very slow. but that was i think almost 4 years ago. since then they have made gains in the specs department but other than that all i heard from them is the one i mentioned above.

how can you say the audio on the LG GT540 is any good?

i also noticed its still on 1.6 and a resistive touchscreen..

i've ruled out Nokia and Sony Ericsson. its a fight between Samsung and LG and HTC i suppose. with Samsung still tops

It's not sluggish at all,the menus roll like butter.
Been running the phone from 99& charged for two days now, almost 30% left.
I think the speaker on that one is really neat, much better that vivaz.
The playback quality of the mp3s in headphones hold the same quality, which as the newer viewty phones does not.
The OS is 2.1 i updated it yesterday.
Crisper screen than vivaz too.

alkanbojj,

may i ask how did you manage to update it to 2.1?

can you add & edit playlist on-the-fly?

can you add songs to the playlist on-the-fly?

does it have Dolby Mobile? if No then does it have like a surround/3D/noise-cancelling effect or something?

does it have a graphic EQ? and can you customise the EQ to your liking and apply it to ALL the MP3 songs?
