They are a little long, so I couldn't fit it in.
Small- something between and iPod and an iPad, bellow 2 pounds
Can be used with stylus pen (or any appropriate pen)- the device would be used to enter short notes with the pen. I assume that means it would also be touch screen.
Notes can be transfered to a computer as a file (any kind of file)
Has a monitor- this rules out digital Notepads, some of which were portable, but almost all of which were not viable on spot, it was necessary to connect them to a computer to view the data.
In addition it would be nice if documents (word files, pdfs, etc..) could be opened on the device, but this is not required.
I've been researching this for sometime, it's for a present for a very picky person, but haven't found much. Tablet PCs are too big, not very big PDA market, I heard iPads are not worth their price....
I was looking through some cellphones that would do this, but we have T-mobile, and that doesn't give too much to choose from... and I don't know if the touch screen cellphones have a program for writing.
So, any suggestions?
