Looking at Sonic the Hedgehog SatAM

Sonic and Sally have to physically consummate their relationship in a scene during the movie because they're lovers. OKAY!?

I want that scene where Ixis Naugus dangles Bunny and slowly removes her organic limbs. I want blood, and pain, and screaming because Sonic is serious. Tails has to say $*#@ and !@#) and !@#*())(!% because he's no longer that innocent little boy, because Sonic is about growing up and being a man.

Which was given to him by his dead father, who killed himself when he found out the new character was a fur-- I mean Robotnik killed him!

I apologize if I have to keep referring to that cartoon, but it just... rings so true.

I love that cartoon. A very effective satire of that portion of the fandom, covering everything from cheap fan characters to the overstatements of how dark the series supposedly was.

All sarcastic remarks aside, why do so many people hate this show? Sure, Sonic SatAM took a lot of creative liberties, but considering what they had to work with, it?s not like they were committing the ultimate sin. As far as I can tell, the original Sonic video games were rather lacking in the story and character departments, so some changes were made when they created the series. Also, despite what some people say, I do believe that the series was rather dark; I?m not saying that the series was for adults or that it was extremely mature, but for a children?s program, it had some rather black scenes. I loved the way the characters were portrayed and I feel that it got a lot better in the second season, all of which helped it become one of my favorite shows of all time.

It seems most people hate this show due to the fandom, though, and that?s not cool. Things should be judged solely by their content.

Yeah, what he said....

I prefer the uber-evil Robotnik myself. I'm an advocate that the villain must come off as a legitimate threat or else you're not going to fear for the heroes' safety...

Would I like to see SatAM: the movie? Of course. Any fanboy worthy of calling himself a fanboy wants to see the object of his fandom revived. Is such a movie actually gonna happen? Don't bet on it.... And I've learned over the years that any revival of anything usually cheeses off at least half the fanbase. I can already hear people screaming "That's not what Bunnie's supposed to sound like!" or something. Maybe it's best to just leave it as it is: 26 untainted (in our eyes at least) episodes.

And, I've said it before.... The best thing about SatAM? There's no &*%$#@! Chris! :D

The fandom is only part of it. The fandom wouldn't be annoying if there weren't issues already with the source material for them to gloss over. I feel that needs to be made clear or this thread will probably end up closed for perceived fandom bashing.

As I said before, I just can't stand how the "Gamers" complain about how the characters in any series are portrayed and the shows they are in. I can only think of several video game based shows I really dislike:

Double Dragon- What the shell was up with this one? It almost seemed like it was based on the horrendous film. And for no apparent reason, they're superheroes? What's that all about.

Sonic Underground- Now... I will admit, I didn't hate what I've seen of the series...but the fact they get up and sing with off key, horrible voices in every episode really soured me.

F Zero- If I'm gonna watch an anime about racing, I'm going with Speed Racer. Plus, it was boring as all get out...

Mortal Kombat- Go ahead. make a kid's cartoon based on a 17 and up rated videogame. What's the worst that could happen?
