yep the coils are side mounted on the 998, and the exhaust guard is different, its either a 748 or 996 most likely

Going by the discs I'd say it's about a '99 model, and judging by the width of the rear tyre it's more likely a 996 than a 748 (unless it has an oversize tyre on it).
So a 996, around '99-2000 would be my guess.
