Long distance riding secrets...

Alaska Leather Butt Pad and Under Armor, unbeatable combination. The right seat and handlebar height/pullback will keep arms and legs comfy. Nothing in pants pockets. I can ride until whomever I am riding with is dying to stop or I need gas, whichever comes first so that's what I do.

I am with the people that say CORBIN - however, I will say it different...

I say it must still fit YOU and that is the trick with any seat... I have a Corbin but it most likley will NOT fit YOU... Why, becuase I am lucky enough to live close to the CA Corbin Factory and I did a ride in appoitment. Meaning I was there at 0800 and met with the seat maker and We worked all day to make the seat fit both me and my wife after WE said - thats perfect - it got covered and we left..

order a seat through the mail is hit/miss at best.

Eventhough I have my Corbin, I still take breaks ever 100 miles or so. Just completed a 7421 mile , 28 state ride and we felt great every night. NO prolbems.

1. Good touring seat with rider back rest. (Or, gel pad and rolled up sleeping bag)
2. Your handlebars need to be where you can fully stretch out your arms if you need to to relieve shoulder/arm tension.
3. Cruise control or throttle lock.
4. Highway pegs adjusted so you can either put the bottoms of your boots on them or lay your leg out and rest your boot over the top of the pegs.

I stop every tank and sooner if bar/beer/me meet up.

I rode 270 miles down I-49 in Louisiana yesterday...boy was it hot. By the time I got to my destination I could not wait to getoff my scooter. I was not tired, it was my a** that could not take no more. There is a lot of good advice in the previous posts that I will try. My first will be investing in good pair of non-cotton underwear.

The best thing I have found is Under Armour heat gear compression shorts. These things work wonders. And if you are thinking about buying the $10 knock offs at WalMart don't do it, they do not work as well.

Corbin?
Might as well mount a piece of concrete to the frame.
Buy up a H-D ultra seat and sent it to these guys.
