hi

i have a 24 hour relufx probe test next monday and have been of my losec and domperodone for two days and i feel great , cant work it out, no cough at all, like one flem cough up a day, no tummy aches, a just a slight feeling of something stuck in my throat, i still however have burping alot after meals and after drinking water so i no my slpincer muscle is opening,

im just waiting for the attack to come lol, im kind of hoping lol or else the 24hr reflux test might not show alnything and yet i no im still refluxing just not as bad,,,,,,,,,,i kind of think my osteopath is actaully helping, she is doing work on my digestive system and said that if your diapram is tight then it bascally leaves the spincer open, so i guess that is what she is working on to relax the diapram, who knows maybe just a good coupe of days, i have even been eating chocolate and then waiting and nothing major,

Two days is exactly how long I had gone without my PPI before I had a major relapse when trying to quit the PPIs. Everyone is different though. I (purposely) missed two days again this week , just to see how I'd do. I got sick last night (day nuraber 2). My stomach hurt so much I could not sleep, which resulted in nausea. I have felt sick today as well since the moment I got up (AND took my Nexium).

I am hoping you'll do fine without the pills. It will be interesting to follow your progress. Best of luck with the test. Please keep us up to date.

Nessie,

Glad to hear you are feeling better.

I was feeling good on the day I had my 24 hr pH. My cough was basically gone on the day of the test (but didn't stay gone). I was frustrated because I had suffered so much for the months prior, but the results still showed severe reflux.

Of course, all of the the PPI's basically stopped working for me in May so going off of them didn't change things much.

I have 10 days until my surgery. Ironically, my cough has lessened during the last week. I went back to taking Prevacid though. I feel better on it, but all the testing I have had done while on it still showed significant reflux so I know it isn't completely working for me.

I've done serious research into going to a Naturopathic MD, but it isn't covered by insurance and I can't afford to go on my own.

Good luck on your test.
