Is it me or has Lois become significantly 'looser' since Family Guy began. I mean let's see who she has been romantically involved with. Quagmire, Brian, Bill Clinton, and now James Woods...

Was she even going out searching for those? And the current seasons are pretty much canonical when they wanna be, so I take any crazy things they do with a grain of salt.

She married Quagmire in an alternate universe. She married Brian but they never consummated. The second James Woods episode hasn't aired yet. Bill's her only real cheat that we know of.

In Lois' defense, she only married Quagmire in an alternate future after Peter ignored her in the past.

I can see what Seth and company was trying to accomplish with Lois; they obviously didn't want the character to become Marge Simpson bland, where her role was relegated to just saying "I don't think that's such a good idea, honey..." and cleaning up after her husband and kids, but I think that they progressed in the wrong direction. Lois has alternately become looser, sluttier and coldly vindictive, which, while it certainly stands in stark contrast to Marge, has made her less appealing a character. It's just shock for shock's sake alone, which is basically what the show as a whole has become.

^Francine from "American Dad" is good blend of Marge and Lois. She cares and doesn't (usually) mock her kids, but she does have a wild sexual side, despite being in the past. (remember her sex garden? Yowza!)...

You pretty much said everything perfectly. The question is, would one prefer the character to become static and bland, or keep them "interesting" yet alter the character's personality? I'd personally much rather Lois be bland that destroy any positive aspects of her character.

Well,if they're gonna keep comin' up with things they might as well explore their options with pairings. And her and Brian never did it.Man,tha'd be weird.:ack:
