Logic MIDI Key assignments?

I have an M-AUDIO Axiom 49 MIDI controller, and i just got it recently. I am using it with Logic Pro 9. I have been assigning the knobs and buttons on logic, and everything seemed to be working fine, except for the fact that the next time i open logic, the buttons are non-responsive, even though Logic says that it has "learned" the assignments.
