Lock broken on my ford escort XR3I and i cant get in to fix it.?

hi all, today my car all of a sudden decided that im not allowed to get in it to open the hood and change the battery as it is flat... the lock in the boot will work and i can here the mechanical lock on the passenger side work but it wont open due to the central locking... and the driver side wont even click to open... so i need to get in my car, how can i?

the car is an 1988 blue ford escort convertible XR3i 1.6 with a new roof (so in not going in that way lol)

please help =) im at my width end lol
