Location Tracking via Internet

The wife and I both have Verizon Wireless with Samsung A930 phones. Is there a way that we can track each other on the Internet for free? We both travel alot and it would be nice to be able to bring up map software on the Internet and see each others location. For example, earlier this week she drove from upstate NY to Washington DC. It would have been great if I could have gone to the PC during the day to see her location. Our resources are limited, and we can't aford additional monthly fees for this convenience.
