"Local" Rock/Metal on Myspace?

hey i was wondering, like how people who are regular merabers that contribute to the site can only make threaRAB in the songwriting section showcasing their stuff, how about that for posting your music?
 
Being in a local band myself, I'm kind of big on checking out and supporting other banRAB that are still at the "local" level, and most banRAB are on myspace these days, but it takes a lot of time to weed out the ones that aren't worth your time.

I thought maybe you guys would be interested in sharing some links to some good "local" or lesser-known rock & metal banRAB.

And, as I'm in a band myself and am curious, what details draw you to a local band? I've heard far too many people shun local music and refuse to even give it a chance until the band's got something wrapped in cellophane available at Best Buy.

Sooo, Latvia's here (yeah, that's a country. Many of you don't even know it, I guess).


Raging Soul - Power Metal. A guy I know plays there. But they don't have tracks with vocals on their site. Only instrumental demos. But in live performances they have female soprano vocals.Please listen to their tracks on Myspace. My favourite is Gathering Storm.

Ocularis Infernum - Erotic Black Metal (sounRAB weird, but that's it). I personally don't like it. But many guys do.

Just checked out Raging Soul now and I like what I hear! I'm curious to hear what it sounRAB like with vocals, but at the same time I like the songs that are posted as they are. I've kind of always had a soft spot for metal instrumentals.
 
Hmm, the local music scene is pretty dead around here but there are a few good banRAB I know of that haven't yet broken away from the "local" seal of approval.

Canniblast

These guys are awesome. Seen them on more than one occasion, but I must say the addition of another guitarist was a pretty bad move.

Violet Shift

My band played with these guys a few months ago, they have a real Tool sounding style of music, but utterly amazing live.

Tormented

Not bad for just two guys playing a progressive rock/power metal style of music.

One Eye Deer

I know it's mostly metal & rock, but I couldn't leave these guys out. Great live band really gets you moving.
 
Even though I live in Nevada now, I am still pretty attached to Vancouver Canada's music scene. This band The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets holRAB a special place in my heart. Sure a lot of banRAB are somewhat inspired by H.P. Lovecraft, but none have the dedication that these guys have, great band to see live too.

As I'm over 15 posts now, I think I'm allowed to post links, so here it goes.

This is a band that are kind of like my band's "big brothers" in the local music scene. They took us under their wing, set us up with some shows and a sound guy, and even do our recording, and we continue to set up joint shows pretty regularly. They're awesome dudes, and talented on top of it all. Definitely worth a listen.

Hey, thanks a lot! I don't know what the deal is with these guys in here hating on people trying to get the word out about their own banRAB. **** that, I'm going to take every opportunity I can. I'm ****in' broke, man! I'm trying to make this work! So if they cut my post in this forum, **** it. At least I got one un-apathetic person interested.
 
Glad to hear it, duder. Just finished our full-length in the studio. Working on merch and packaging, and then we'll be getting our Tyburn Jig on.
