Live Albums which are the artist's BEST release

Which artists do you feel have a live album that is better than any of their studio releases?

Lynyrd Skynyrd - One More From The Road

One of my favourite live albums, absolutely brilliant fun, tremendous musicianship, great quality recording and definitely their best.

Sam Cooke - Live at the Harlem Square Club, 1963

Already reviewed this but great voice, great songs, great atmosphere.

Beat me to it. Oh well.

Led Zeppelin - How The West Was Won (2003)

This was Zep at their prime, when Jimmy Page was still (relatively) sober and they hadn't yet recorded all the crap that made Physical Graffiti.

James Brown - Live At The Apollo (1963)

This album is incredible. It's a perfect blend of topical songs and more subtle folk tracks. The highlights are versions of Poe's "The Bells" and Alfred Noyes' "The Highwayman" set to music.

All of Van Zandt's studio albums are marred by poor production, limp performances, or uninspired song selections. This one tops them all, and it even has the edge over the legendary Live At The Old Quarter, by virtue of a quicker pace (no annoying jokes here!) and an incredible backing band.

Spiral Scratch is still their best work, but this easily tops Singles Going Steady.

I'll throw in the Sex Pistols' Burton-On-Trent gig if we're counting that as an official live album.

I'd have gone with that one too

I've never been all that keen on live albums, but here's a pretty obvious choice from me;

And this album is immense, but merely one of my favourites in his discography;
