Live action movies that have animated intros

Before anyone comments, this isnt hybrids.

Now there are a few movies out that are live-action. But however unlike most of them, they have an animated sequence at the beginning. Usually showing the cast and etc. The Pink Panther is known for this, so what are live-action movies that have animated intros?

The ones I can think on the top of my head are Pink Panther and Who's that girl.

Honey I Shrunk The Kids: It shows Amy and Nick being shrunk and outrunning various oversized hazards.

Honey I Blew Up The Kid: It shows Wayne taking care of his now giant son, with hilarious results.

The Private Eyes (1981)-starring Don Knotts and Tim Conway had a really funny animated intro, which I honestly thought was more fun than the actual movie.

Roger Corman's Gas! from 1971 had an animated intro featuring a John Wayne-esque general. It was simple and the style reminded me of that old Tootsie Pop commercial but it was one of the better parts of the movie, which isn't saying much. But this is one of those movie's that's so bad it's good.

Night of the Demons (1987) has a really cool animated sequence for the opening credits that I love.

The first City Slickers has a funny opening credits sequence with a cartoon cowboy trying to lasso various things. (I think it was done again for City Slickers 2, but I'm not sure.)

I was so excited to see they included that on the Special Edition, but disappointed that, after you watch the whole thing, is has no real ending. It just sort of repeats the final bit with the smoking a few times, then simply fades to black.

One of the Cannonball Run movies (I think the third one) had an intro animated by Ralph Bakshi's company.

There's been several othe threads about this topic on this forum over the years, BTW. One of them was active only a year ago.

Yes, and John Kricfalusi worked on that one. I'd also like to point out that 'Loverboy' with Patrick Dempsy had an animated sequence featuring, what i'd like to call, Speed Buggy's mexican cousin. :p 'Christmas Vacation' had a really nice animated sequence by the Kroyers. 'Who's That Girl', and 'Mannequin' had some fun animated intros, too.

No mention of Richard Williams' knock out title sequences for The Pink Panther Strikes Again and Return of the Pink Panther (with Ken Harris). Those two are the peak of the cartoon title sequences. I don't think we have had animation title sequences at that level since.

I don't care for the other Panther titles animated by Freleng/Depatie, although I like the live action and animation mash up from Son of The Pink Panther (I forget who did it).

Williams did some great titles for other films like Funny thing Happened on the way to the Forum.

It's a Mad mad mad world, even Maurice Binder's original Dr No opening titles was mostly animated.

Terry Gillam's Life of Brian titles.

Some great 80s cartoon title sequences:
Ruthless People
Who's That Girl
Mannequin

Most of the James Bond movies have animated intros, i believe.

Yes, they have silhouettes of real (as in -- not hand drawn) naked girls, but it's animation all the same.

"Kiss, kiss, bang, bang"

And while it wasn't an intro but more like outro (animated sequence during the credits) but "Running scared" had an awesome one.

By the way -- both are awesome movies.

No, not really. Most of the ones made by Maurice Binder are superimpositions/roto of props, live action abstractions and dancers. There are small elements of very rudimentary animation (Moonraker has some as well as the laser beams from A View To A Kill), the actual title cels, but they can hardly count as "animated". The two designed by Robert Brownjohn (From Russia with Love and Goldfinger) are not animated at all, save the title cels. They aren't comparable to a Bass or Williams title sequence in terms of animation content. Dr No was the only one that was really all out animation.

Daniel Kleinman's modern 007 titles on films like Tomorrow Never Dies and Casino Royale however are dominantly CG animation (though the last one by MK12 wasn't).
