Live action Evangelion announced

While the news was announced on April 1st on Yahoo Japan.com's website it is very true they are letting Japenese people vote on who they want to star in the film also. I've wanted this to happen for a while and now it's a reality I am so excited too bad there is no plannned release date yet .

Did I mention it is from Yahoo Japan, the page and poll options are still there, and that Gainax is funding it :P And there was alot of Eva news that was annouced on that day like a new Rebuild 2.0 trailer, Girlfriend of steel 2 for Psp, and some new Rebuild of Evangelion games for PS2 and PSP the latter 2 were in Famistu that day. And Evageeks doesn't do April fool news they never have and they said they never will

Old news. I been hearing this LAM a while already. Anyways, this movie will be good. Or bad. Whatever, life moves on!

Well the site just posted the news yesterday and it was put up recetly so no. And beside I don't think this one has anything to do ADV's version
 
Yea, and it still is. But many ppl took the movie to seriously and look what happen!


I'm just worry LAM Evangelion will be like that! I don't care if its bad, but if ppl over reacts (AGAIN!!!!!), there's no hope!
 
It's a lose catch-22 for this movie. Either live-action whiny Shinji is the main character, and no American audience likes a whiny mecha hero...


...Or they don't make Shinji whiny and completely miss the point of Eva in the first place.



Oh yes, and fighting "Angels." GOOD LUCK WITH THAT! Even Dogma got horrendous rap and they were the most obvious parody there was (George Carlin as a Cardinal? Come on.)

Wait, wasnt the idea for a LA Eva movie said like 5 years ago?

Seriously, they are now doing this? I thought they put in production hell or were kinda working on it. I could have sworn there were ideas or a concept for this long long ago, and that Peter Jackson was to direct (Hey, something i read in Newtype/internet long ago)...

Ah, thats all i got. Gotta say, thats a pretty bad looking cast, Cutrabroadert to me would be a really good Ritsuko (i do like me some Ritsuko) to play the role, that or Scarlett Johanson, either one would work...

And I think the Asian chick you're talking about is Tia Carerre who played Nani in Lilo and Stitch.

As for Shinji, why should it be someone from High School Musical? Full Metal Panic is already getting flagged as being another crappy live-action adaptation of an anime BECAUSE of "some kid from High School Musical". After his brief appearances in ER, give that kid who played Jimmy Roberts from Out of Jimmy's Head the rold so we can see his butt kicked by the earth-shattering robots
