Hey guys :)

Next week we have auditions for our school musical, and this year it is Little Shop of Horrors; I was just wondering how many here had seen the film version, and what they thought of it?

I played in the band for our school version of Little Shop years ago. It was great fun, the stage show is quite a bit different to the film. There are different songs and more people die!!

The film is brilliant, of course, mainly because of how they did the plant, Audrey 2, with Jim Henson's Creature Workshop effects. It still defies belief when you watch it.

The film is fantastic.

And I am glad they used the happy ending rather than the original "Plants take over the world" ending.
You can see the original in black and white on youtube.

I haven't seen Little Shop of Horrors (1986) in years, used to be on TV quite often in the early 90's.There is a young Jack Nicholson in the 50's original - it's obvious he had the charisma to become a movie icon.

If you check out youtube, there is the footage of the alternate ending shot for the 80's version.

It's VERY different than what we saw.

I've seen the alterntive ending for the film and it's a real tragedy it wasn't kept because it makes the rest of the story make sense, which it doesn't with the happy ending. But that's Hollywood for you.
