Little Shop of Horrors Alt Ending

always loved this movie and recently saw the west end version which has an entirely different ending to the film. Although I read something vague at the time of the film's release about another ending, I did not think much of it,until I saw the stage show and then found this on you tube. They reshot the ending owing to negative test audience reaction, and as you will see much of it survives in a more rosy version released in cinemas. They released this without completed work done(i.e in black and white/ some sound missing) on a special edition of little shop of horrors released on DVD and then, owing to some reason , it got pulled, but someone you tubed it first. if you like the original film and are not familiar with the stage show, it's something of a shock.

I have this on DVD, but it's not the one with the alternative ending. Used to love this film, the songs were so catchy, and Steve Martin is great as the demonic dentist. I'm gonna watch it soon!

What's wrong with test audiences? Are they all incurable optimists or something? It seems all too often a better (usually bleaker) ending has been replaced by something happier that fails to sit well with the rest of the film because test audience didn't like the original. The swines!
