I had my last Hydro on 10/06/08 and would like some or any info on PAWS (post acute withdraw syndrome). I took time off from work to have carpel tunnel surgery and use that time also to clean myself up .The withdraws were pretty much over in about 5 or 6 days. But i wake up every day after my first cup of coffee and think "Oh Lord, Is This how I'm gonna feel EVERYDAY ?" I'm just drained and not positive about anything. Let me mention that I live by myself and have delt with this by myself from day one and I'm also on Prozac and Wellbutrin..Prozac 8 + yrs..wellbutrin , maybe 3 wks. What I'm nervous about is Returning to work next wk.being a totally different person to who I was Over a month ago before I went on medical leave. It's a very fast paced job and I've had 3-4 raises since I've been there but I've got a feeling they're not going to see the same person I was at once..but That's Okay... but, still A Little Nervous.....pray for me !

Thank You ! Gotta LONG ways to go. I read one time where someone said ..QUITING AN ADDICTION IS ONE THING , STAYING CLEAN IS ANOTHER. But Thank You ! any ideas on PAWS. I just found out about this after I was 10 days clean. Didn't realize that it may take up to a year before I may feel like my "ole self" again..

I commend you for your efforts. Just stay away from the people you were hanging with and you will be fine. It takes a really long time and you may never get to the point that you don't crave the habit a little, but that is where your self control comes in. Don't go back you can only go forward now. You deserve it. It will get better over time and if you turn to God you can do anything. So don't give up. God can take that craving and that nervousness away from you for life. Good luck.

Thanks grandma63...I cherish the name grandma also. With the wisdom of the Lord I realize that it took me 8 yrs to get myself into this mess and it may take YEARS to get out of it..Thank You ALL......

You'll be a little nervous about work, but you'll be amazed at how fast you adjust to working while sober. You'll feel better about yourself in a few days, and work will be more gratifying. That's how I felt when I went back to work, nevertheless.

Good job. Keep up the good work. Stay strong.
