Years ago my mum bought a little china decorative black doll which unfortunately was smashed when my brother knocked it. It was about 25cm high and in a permanent sitting position so it sat on the edge of the dresser. It had a straw hat and Huckleberry Finn style clothing. I've tried looking everywhere but I can't find anything aven remotely similar looking. I think we bought it from a shop near the coast.
