Little Black Book

Hey everyone,

I'm 23 and I'm dating and I would love to have a little black book. Easy you say, go to OfficeMax or someplace like that and get a little black book. Well my friend here's the thing. I won't end up carrying that one. I want to have one on my T3. I know there is a program called "Little Black Book" and I have it on my Palm and I like it a lot (kudos to the developer). But it's limited in it's scope and I need more expandablity, more room to write some notes down.

So do any of you know of a program (doesn't have to be just for Dating but would be a plus) that would serve this need in my life? Please enlighten me with your infinite knowledge, because I've looked everywhere and NO LUCK! And I'm a techy too!

Have you tried Handy Shopper? Sounds kind of dumb but it's actually a pretty flexible database program that might do very well for what you want with some "creative" thinking on your part.:)

Hey Jim,

What a response time! Yea I thought about using a database program and I've downloaded a few for smartlists to go but i'd like a stand alone program because they i could access it directly from an icon on my computer. Is there a way to do that with smartlists?

1. Get CCrypt on Freeware Palm. Encrypts text anywhere. You'll have to copy the encrypted text, open up CCrypt, paste, and decrypt using a passkey. Little messy but very secure.

2. Get TealSafe - allows for encrypted data STORES each containg categories - far more "database like" than other security apps, and you can mark one "Book" or "#s."

3. Get TealDoc, start new blank document, and preface title with "~". Titles starting with those can be hidden.

4. Get older program called SecureMemo (which I found unreliable as key would "lose itself" and no key, no data). Older versions still work on the T3 and are freeware (believe the newer ones are commercial).

5. Get MobileDB, create database, and assign a password to it. It does NOT encrypt the data, and the date can be read in a file manager with a hex editor, but at least it's hidden from "prying eyes" unless they know how to use filez or TealMover to read the text.

Why not just use the built in address book, with a secure password, and a "Black Book" category, then you could get all of the contact details, their birthday, anniversary days ( you could make this when you met) - or fiddle with the Custom fields... and there is always a notes field to add more detail too.

All this, and you can be sure it is backing up, and available on your PC too!
