list your n73 problems

i just got my phone last week, and am finding a lot of problems with it. i did the software update right away, so i have the most current.
here are my problems:
1. call log periodicly clears itself
2. phone says "insert sim" once in a while
3. asks me to copy contacts from sim


are these problems common? fw related or hardware? someone help me out cuz im losing my patience with this phone.
 
It's sounding more like you either have a faulty SIM card slot, or you didn't insert it properly. If it asks you to insert the SIM, that means it isn't reading the SIM card properly, and if it asks to import SIM contacts, it sounds like the phone is starting to read the SIM as if you just put it in. That would also explain the call log clearing itself because the only time it would do that is if you changed SIM cards.

Make sure it's in properly, and if the problems persist, I'd have it replaced.

could it be a fw issue? everything else works great, i love the phone.
 
It's possible. Is that the ME firmware or just the regular .0638? I was running the non-ME .0638 before I bricked my phone and didn't have that problem at all.
 
i got the phone from exotic phone, and they have the worst customer service. i cant even imagine how long it would take them to exchange it for me.
 
i updated the firmware the day i got the phone. so i dont know what it was like prior to the upgrade. johnny, i really appreciate your input on this. thanks a million. i just checked my sim, and all looks good, mind you, my sim is probably 5 years old. i opened up the back of the phone and tried wiggling the sim to see if it would lose connection, but nothing. i really tried to move it, and wiggle it and still it was fine. im gonna try the ME fw tomorrow to see.
 
I'm almost positive it's your SIM or the SIM reader. Have you tried a friend's SIM to see if the problem was still there? A 5 year old SIM sounds like it very well could be the problem. Is the gold connection part of the SIM scratched or anything like that?
 
its not scratched, but does have a tiny green spot on it, looks like old liquid damage. this card has worked for me well for many years, in many different phones
 
I think the worst customer service is SN Traders. Don't ever buy from them. I went to their store three times before they actually had the phone and I called up before each visit in which he said the phone was right there in front of him.

Other than that, I picked up the N73 ME and haven't had any real issues. Every now and then the phone hangs but it seems to be after a lot of camera usage. A couple of time the video hasn't saved because I've had to restart my phone.
 
exotic phones return policy states that if the software has been updated by me, their return policy is void. would they really check what software was on the phone before sending out?
 
There's a WATER damage mark on it, and you still think it's a problem with the phone? Try someone else's SIM card before you try to exchange it, especially through that company. Your provider should be able to give you a new SIM card with the same number for free, especially if it's 5 years old.
 
i just talked to my provider and they told me i have to pay for it, since there is nothign wrong with my sim and its still not outdated. im just going to buy a new one.
