fair enough, but from what ive seen of the iphone they use the standard "qwerty" style and its always in the same place. dont see the problem as im not a person who looks at what hes typing anyway.
As someone shopping for a smart phone, the lack of keyboard, limited battery life, and lack of third party software makes it nothing more than a novelty. I'll be putting my money into a Blackberry 8830.
no fuckin way finding the right mix of flex and flash is a pain. And even if you do find it, its not like u can call up motorola and be like hey can i have the latest flex and flash. I get headaches looking on hofo...and they tell u straight out that asking for em is illegal.
at least at apples end they'll send it straight through itunes.
and i give the iphone a week or 2 till its hacked to do fun things like the appletv
im sure 3rd party support will eventually come in later.
I "blind text" a lot, without looking at screen or keypad until I choose a recipient. Not to mention I wanna be able to change songs when it's in my pocket or whatever.
Apple has made the phone specifically to limit 3rd party support. Any hacks to the iPhone will be viewed as security flaws (their supposed reasoning for limiting 3rd party support) and likely get patched quickly, if they plan on updating the firmware as often as you think.
I predict the 1st gen iPhones will have A LOT of software updates in the near future. C'mon... no landscape keyboard layout? Simple fix. There are a lot of other minor things like that that will only continue to make the gen1 iPhone better.
