Sad to hear about the death of this great actor/director.

Most famous for directing The Railway Children he also directed the superb The Amazing Mr Blunden .

Loved him as prison officer Krout in Two Way Stretch,Nosey Parker in The Wrong Arm of the Law and my fave as Cavor in The First Men In The Moon.

A great loss but some superb memories left behind

The Amazing Mr Blunden was one of my favourite films as a child. RIP.

The film was very seldom seen for many years , probably because it made by Hemdale who's films seemed to be in legal limbo for a long time.

I caught the second half of it one Xmas on ITV in the late 70's .

After that ITV threw it away by showing it on school holiday mornings so I recorded it around 1982 when there was still no aRAB on morning tv.

I just love everything about the film so was really pleased when it came out on dvd .

The dvd is now really rare although a German release has reduced the prices of the UK disc.

Thankfully BBC2 have given the film a couple of decent airings and I hope it gets shown as a tribute instead of The Railway Children
