Limitations on free 1st month?

I want to try Cricket but don't want to invest big $$ on a phone. If i buy one of their 9.99 refurbs to try for a month, would I be ineligible to get the 1st month free if I buy a higher quality phone later?

I would not care about carrying the phone nuraber over, so I don't think I would be required to pay the $15 change fee - am I correct on this?

You can not port cricket nuraber from one account to the other. You need to port it to a different carrier first. Then port it back to the new account.

If you buy a $9.99 phone, decide you like it, and want to upgrade to a better quality phone and want to keep the same nuraber that you have on the refurb then you pay a higher price for the new phone (for example MsgM8 A300=$99 for new customer/$139 for upgrade) and nothing changes about your billing and you definitely don't get another month for free.

My advice...Cricket is as good as any of them especially considering their new rates. Ask questions, check their coverage map to ensure you have service where you need it and go ahead and get the better quality phone now.

Plus...those refurb u340s aren't very good anyway.
