My answers:

James - I agree, probably end of fourth year, beginning of fifth. I think her being very outgoing and being cheeky towarRAB Slughorn when he told her she should have been in Slytherin would have been a real turn on for James. Also her tendancy to break rules (as told by JKR). He probably found her really funny, interesting, and then when he realised he found her attractive, well.. Then he began to stupidly show off..

Lily - I think she had a crush on James in fifth year, but wouldn't really admit it to herself until at least sixth year (maybe it even took as long as seventh - but I see her as a bit too sensible to be blind for that long). Unfortunately after James got the crush on her, she probably couldn't see much of the real him, since he tended to show off whenever she was around (and nervous as he was, couldn't think properly as to how to do it). I think James needed to calm down a bit around Lily before she could see the real him. She certainly liked those glimpses she got of him when he didn't know she was watching ;)
 
It's amazing how Snape gets all this credit for changing sides, never mind what his true motivations were, while James had his head on straight ALL ALONG and knew it was morally wrong to engage in dark arts yet he just gets brushed to the side. Now I'm not saying Snape had no right to hate James, I can understand not liking him from his perspective. But c'mon, he was bulling Harry right from the start just because he dared to look like James. That's ridiculous. I don't think if Lily was alive that she'd like her son being picked on for that.

And speaking of which, it says something that Lily CHOSE to die. Not just because of the whole sacrifice and all that but because it showed that she genuinely loved James and Harry and would do anything to protect them. Her even having the choice, thanks to Snape, didn't matter to her. Her heart was with her family. :love:



ITA. I liked when Snape was this kind of gray character. But DH really cheapened him. IMO he was a better villain than hero.
 
There's a ton of JL fics out there, I couldn't believe it. And it's probably the way to go since I'm not getting my hopes up for a prequel. :lol: I've always wanted to know how they fell in love. :love:
 
There is just so much potential and so many scenarios to think of, that it leaves an endless amount of fics and arts and I'm so glad it's out there or I'd feel so much more deprived of these two.

Yeah I agree, even though the movies didn't do a proper job with Snape's character, but Alan's performance was so amazing that I bought his "darkness" in the movie too. I think it was a huge mistake romanticizing his character, because it only made him look less dark and more obsessive and sick.





Exactly, Harry could have forgiven Snape and maybe that would have been right, but naming his child after the man who was obsessed with his dead mom, made his childhood miserable because he looked like his father and was ok withhim dying as a newborn baby only if Lily stays alive - it's a bit too much. There where plenty of characters that where 100 times more brave than Snape.



Exactly, James was a good friend even as a teenager and he became a man so fast, he took care of his family, of his frienRAB, he died for the woman he loved and his child. I still wish we got to actually read about his evolation, I'm sure it would have been so interesting.
 
James was a true hero indeed. Even as a jerky teen he still knew what was right or wrong and was a great friend and such a little periode of time was enough for him to evolve into an amazing person. He went out as a hero at 21, protecting his family from the darkest wizard of all time. Whereas a certain character couldn't grow out of selfishness and stupidity even past 30 and cared only about his selfish neeRAB and feelings always :rolleyes:

I know what you mean! It really until recently when I started really THINKING about these two as an actual couple, and how amazing their story must have been... because we really didn't much on them at all. And then I started reading that fic, and my love grew to obsession haha. They must have really been something special. & I just love the whole idea of who James was and how he became a better man because of her and for her in a lot ways. It's so cute. :love:

Exactly, if Snape had wanted to, he could have continued his frienRABhip with Lily all the same, that was way before Lily had had any romantic feelings towarRAB James anyway. But he screwed it up for himself. There are just SO many of Snape's actions that you really cannot excuse him for. :rolleyes:
 
I'm guessing it would probably be something very common and easy to pronouce - no more than two syllables. Like "mom" or "no!" Those would probably be worRAB he was exposed to most often. Yes, not as interesting, but I think it probably would have been something simple like that.

And this question was directed at me but I'll answer it anyway, my favorite Lily/James fanfictions are the ones that deal with exactly how it was that Lily had realized she had feelings for James, and how it was that they finally got together in their seventh year. :nod: And just about anything with Baby!Harry in it. :lol:

Actually, most of the fics that I have read are in Lily's point of view, I haven't read many through James' perspective to be honest.
