Lil Miss Sunshine ..

Kramer ... ;)

Olive is a little girl with a dream: winning the Little Miss Sunshine contest. Her family wants her dream to come true, but they are so burdened with their own quirks, neuroses, and problems that they can barely make it through a day without some disaster befalling them. Olive's father Richard is a flop as a motivational speaker, and is barely on speaking terms with her mother. Her uncle Frank, a renowned Proust scholar, has attempted suicide following an unsuccessful romance with a male graduate student. Her brother Dwayne, a fanatical follower of Nietzsche, has taken a vow of silence, which allows him to escape somewhat from the family whose very presence torments him. And Olive's grandfather is a ne'er-do-well with a drug habit, but at least he enthusiastically coaches Olive in her contest talent routine. Circumstances conspire to put the entire family on the road together with the goal of getting Olive to the Little Miss Sunshine contest in far off California.

this IS an ADULT FILM , its not a roar out laugh film but quirky I dare any one not to be roaring in laughter at the end ,
outstanding an the girl looks like a mini of that nutter wife ashley in Corrie st married ...
wonderful film ..

Absolutely superb film. The way they transpose comedy and tragedy so quickly and effectively was amazing. One moment I was biting my lip fighting back tears and the next I was laughing out loud.

Excellent script and well-acted. It felt like one of the most original films I've seen in years. At the end quite a few people in the audience clapped!

Defo one to re-watch and buy on DVD!

Brilliant film, dragged my OH to see it too and even he liked it! Loved the ironic sense of humour and the performances from Toni Collette, Greg Kinnear and Alan Arkin were excellent, along with little Abigail Breslin as Olive........as someone else pointed out its not always laugh-out-loud funny, more dark comedy moments, but I did laugh at
SUPER FREAK!!

:D

I laughed so much at that I had tears in my eyes, and the whole audience was laughing with me!!

Absoluely amazing film, recommending to everyone I see at the moment. Definately want to see again, if not buy the dvd!

I thought there was actually quite a bit wrong with it story-wise. But despite this - and like everyone else - I laughed very loud and very long! Likeable dysfunctional characters + the world's worst VW van, and you can't go to far wrong...

I agree 100%. I saw this movie yesterday and loved it!!! I'm certainly going to get it when it comes out on DVD. Totally adored Olive, especially at the end and her grandpa was cool. It is a highlight in a year of rubbish offerings from LaLa Land

I saw this last week and absolutely loved it. Very, very funny. The girl who played Olive gave an outstanding performance. I usually abhor child actors but she was fantastic. Probably my favourite film of the year. :)
