Like trudging through pudding that I can`t eat.

Hello, I`m a 22 year old 5'11" white female. I have been healthy up until about six months ago. At that point, I became very very tired. I started requiring more and more sleep. I had to give up hours at work because I simply couldn't handle them anymore. I now sleep about 9-13 hours a night. Then the weight set in. In six months, my weight shot up from 245 to 300. Then my problem with food started. About three to four weeks ago, I began vomiting after meals. Now, I vomit meals up on an almost daily basis. Some days I vomit after every single meal. Other days, I can eat all three meals and only have mild nausea. Also, I am constantly thirsty. I always have to have something to drink, which results in me urinating very frequently, sometimes as often as once an hour. My sleep is often interrupted multiple times by bathroom breaks.

I don`t have health insurance, but I am getting on a plan next month, and will go to the doctor then. But in the meantime, I would love to have an idea of what`s wrong with me! I would also like to be armed with information and suggestions when I go in. I've gone from a perfectly normal 22 year old to a total mess. Any ideas?

The number-one thing your symptoms make me think of is diabetes, especially the constant thirst. A simple blood glucose test can find out if you do or don't. You mention being very heavy, which would mean it's probably Type 2.

Exactly how long is it until you get the insurance? I'm trying to figure out whether it's safe for you to wait that long.
