I always did. I took out the blocks too and then just re-aimed the hi-beam. Yeah, I think it looks better, plus it stops all the "Hey you know you have a blown blub."
I ride with my brights on day or night unless it is dark and I'm in traffic. I would rather someone bitching about my brights being on then not see me at all.
The 748/916/996/998 have the same style lights. Here's my 2 cents... yes I ride with my high beams on for visibility. Yes I think it looks better. I ran out of bull shit stories to tell people as to why I have one light out.
Dual lights on look the best. Totally gree on easier to be seen by car drivers. My biggest problem is remembering to turn them on....lol I need to wire them permantely.
This single headlight on is similiar to when Chevy on their preformance Camarro decided to do the European flair and only have it with one exh pipe......! Talk about looking whimpy especially on a car with a history of dual exhausts since its creation.
The 999 certainly had the better headlight arrangement for uefulness but the dual side by side lights looks meaner in my opinion. The headlights should have both have a low and high headlight beam and run together.
I still cannot belief this was the way it was originally designed. I feel somewhere down the road production costs came into play and they went the cheaper way....who knows.....but the whole light pattern sucks big time at night.
With the blocker plates in the first time I rode at night I could not stay on the road at any speed. It was like a very bad hangover and "I" was the drunk!!
