Oh no!

I didnt mean that the prozac was making me feel light headed.

I know its not. I was lightheaded WAY, WAY before prozac.

It was easy to deal with for the last 10 years, but it got worse in the last 2 years, I feel totally out of it all the time 24/7.

The Dr tested me for everything, and I mean everything from my head to heart, and a million blood test.

the only thing they could find wrong with me was bad allergies.

I also went to a natural Dr. and they couldnt help at all.

tUrRrRa, I do need to change my diet, and my way of living.

Im not a huge fatty, but Im not skinny(6 foot 235 pounRAB), but I dont eat good, I smoke, and Im stressed.

how know maybe its not Anxiety, maybe its a mixture of everything?

Who knows... :dizzy::dizzy::dizzy::mad:

Hi..the lightheadness could be from anxiety...Thats one of the major symptoms...Thats why i said maybe a medication change might help....It did for me...I hope you feel better soon....

I dont know what do any more.

Ive been on prozac for a year now. It has helped alot with the panic stuff, but the doc said thats what was causing the foggy feeling.

Ive been a little light headed for 12 years, but the last 2 years have been really bad. I dont know what do anymore. my wife is pregnant with the first, and I feel like crap:mad:

is there anything that helps????

I have only ever taken 5 mg of prozac day. He told me to take 5mg for 2 weeks then move up to 10, but I never moved up to 10.

and the prozac did take away the panic problems for good! thanks god!!

but I gotta kick the light headedness NOW!!!!!

what can I do? :confused::confused::confused::confused:

mrt7777, I can say that I get a LOT of dizziness from allergies, so that's a very possible cause. I've also had a lot of blood work and general tests done without anything coming up. So, I am guessing my dizziness is caused my allergies. I often don't feel sneezy or sniffly or anything, but I notice that I have a lot of pressure on my face and head. Seems like my sinuses get blocked up easily, and other family merabers of mine have this issue too. I used some sinus nasal spray and noticed that a lot of the pressure disappeared and my sinuses started draining, but then I had a sore throat! I guess I definitely have blocked up sinuses and it really makes me dizzy and difficult to wake up some days. So, that's very much a possibility for you if you have allergies!

yes, It is a good possibility.

I wish I know what was causing the lightheadedness.

I hope you are able to find out the cause soon! I know it's frustrating. I recently found out about a person I know who was having dizziness and tiredness from food sensitivities. They had to go to a special doctor for food sensitivity tests, as most doctors will only test for food allergies. They didn't get any severe symptoms, just the dizziness and tiredness. They had to cut out a lot of sugar and grain products, which were causing the symptoms. The person felt great afterwarRAB! I'd be curious to look into this kind of test, because I guess we never know what can cause it.

Before I ever started taking Prozac, I would get the same spaced out, lightheaded feeling, most likely due to sinus problems. So, when I started taking it, I felt about the same! I guess I'm used to it, but I understand that it's very annoying to deal with. On the days when I do feel clear, I feel awesome and wish I could feel that alert every day. Overall, I feel much happier and calmer, so I choose to still take it, but I mostly get concerned about not being alert enough while at work or when driving. Honestly, I haven't found anything to fix it 100%, but what I've been trying to do is get a little bit more sleep. I often get a little bit less sleep than I should, so I'm really aiming for 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Also, working out helps keep me focused. I try to go for regular runs 5 times a week and I try to walk around a lot throughout the day to keep me active and clear my mind. I also try to eat a clean diet with less processed fooRAB. It's hard for me to eat 100% this way, but I try my best to do what I can! Lastly, I drink some coffee each morning to help me stay alert. I hate to rely on caffeine, but it helps quite a bit and helps me be very productive at work.

Compared to other medications I've tried (Cyrabalta, for example), I feel MUCH better with Prozac. Cyrabalta made me lightheaded AND much more drowsy, so I was having trouble staying awake. With Prozac, I feel like it's more of a calm spaced out feeling where it's hard to concentrate. I forget things often so I try to write everything down and stay very organized.

I've been on Prozac for 6 years and I've felt light headed too. However, I was usually on 20 or 40 mg daily. At 5mg though, it's rare to hear of people with unbearable lightheadedness. How sure are you it's the Prozac?

I also forgot to mention that I take 20mg, not 5mg. I've also realized that MANY things can cause dizziness and lightheaded feelings, with or without my Prozac. I'm just very sensitive to feeling dizzy in general, so I have to make SURE I drink 8 glasses of water a day, avoid too much sugar and carbs, and get enough sleep.

Hi..I would talk to my dr about a medication change..I could not stand having that feeling all the time...Dizziness is my major symptom with anxiety and if i feel that way i panic ! I have never tryed prozac but have had other antidepressants make me feel that way...Im on celexa and xanax and have done fine on those....
Feel Better
