Lift of ban on gay marriage....??

Consider this...we are currently fighting a huge war with terrorists and possibly a whole country (Iran) in the near future. We are in an econimic "crisis" right now, and things don't look like they are going to let up anytime soon. Now with media running circles around the ban lift on gay marriage in California, do you really think it is necessary for the media to make a big deal about this even when we have bigger issues at hand??
