Im the kind of person who gets up late, loves kids, loves taking pictures, loves people, likes to drive, and wants to earn lots of money- but am still "working" on a degree as Im on 19.

I recently went for an interveiw at Lifetouch, for a Preschool Photographer....
I would be getting paid about $10 an hour.... with some bonuses. Plus they pay my gas weekly.
I would be driving around the area....
I would be getting up around 430, to be at these "preschool centers" by 630.... and would be done by 1230-100 pm.
Im super excited about it, but just a little nervous, Id be going to all these centers alone, taking lots of pictures, everyday. What if I screw up? What if I cant do it?
I think Ill be fine... but I just have a weird feeling?
Any help? Advice? Thanks!!

PS- Also my family keeps saying Im crazy for turning down an opritunity like this, if I were to, because of the pay, and the awesome expereince Id be getting....
Is this true?
Yes, but Im alittle worried, about how it will look on my resume....
just working for three months-because it is a seasonal job? I need a steady income and would be forced to get a different job in three months.... then Im in the same boat.... They said they would hire me back... next season if all worked out.... but then Id have to have a summer job too.... because of the time split..... HELPP!

Take it! Your family is exactly right. Most importantly, being done by 1 you could still easily get your degree. PLUS...it would be a great resume builder for your future. You may have a very busy next few years, but it will most definitely pay off!

It all depends. It seems like the job for you, however, Im not sure you would be getting that much experience in the actual photography area-not for preschoolers. (I could be wrong tho, Im not sure how it is in different states)

I was a photographer for Life Touch for the senior portraits. I never went on the road though. I just worked in the studio. I liked it, but it was also too stressful for me. Everything had to be done quick and there were too many outfit changes and picky mothers.

Its a good company to move up in. Especially if you can get into working in a studio and on road for the senior portraits. Its more creative, and you get lots of training on studio lighting, and you edit and enhance your own photos. From what I know about Preschool-11th grade, its all just having the students sit a certain way, and tilt a certain way, while making sure the lighting is correct (although the lights rarely move).

Since it seems you are going to school, why not take the job!? The hours are good. If you can put this job on your resume, it can help you with other future jobs.

I say, try it out, if you don't like it, quite. Go work at a studio. JC Penny, Sears, Portrait Innovations, etc...
