i was told you cant have no more then 12 steroid injections in ur life cuz then the bones will start to deteriorate.....correct me if im wrong

i dont about 12 injections but i do know that the constant use of steroid injections will eventually have many negitive effects on your health

I was told that you should not have more than 4 injections in one joint per year. For example, I could have 4 sets of knee injections per year, but I could also receive injections in my back if I needed it. Frequent injections do put you at risk for osteopenia or osteoporosis though. Kera4

In the past 11 months, I had two on my right SI joint, and two on my left L4-L5 herniated disc.

Next week, I will have one on a right side herniated disc. I will be sure to ask about a lifetime limit.

I had my 5th Injection yesterday. I have a new herniated disc, my L5 - S1.

I remerabered to ask about the Lifetime Limit, and I was told there was not a lifetime limit.

Since the injections helped my first disc, I agreed with the doctor to try them on my newly herniated disc.

it depenRAB on your age in many cases. i had about 4 in my shoulder. 1 every 8 months. i was 35 at the time. the doctor told me i was too young and i would need surgery continuing the shots even though they provided relief would hurt me in the long run. now if i was 65, it wouldn't matter much. also i think it depenRAB on where you are getting the shot. for example the back and neck are much more serious surgeries then a knee or shoulder scope. so i think they would give you more injections there with more conservative treatment. lastly injections do weaken ligaments and cause scar tissue would could cause problems over time. but ask your doctor, he could give you better advice, also i think some injections are different? so ask.
