Life sucks because i just flamed a guy on another forum for using a period inside a parenthesized comment; it just dawned on me that in his context it was perfectly acceptable to use a period.

so, since i don't feel like going back to edit my post, i'll just whine about it like the rest of you. :D

it's just text, unformal text, in a thread, does is matter really?
I think I do this annoying thing like.....that, all those periods wasted instead of just spacing it.....but I'm trying to show pause and I never use capitals except for 'I'
 
The string of periods thing is used in forum posting to represent a long pause, like as if you're thinking about the next thing to say. Used in that context it is correct.
 
awesome, except I'm thinking that my string of periods are too short to represent a pause...............................................................................................................................it should be like that since for some reason it's like I have bad short term memory and I forget what I'm doing or saying right in the middle of it........................so I gotta wait til it catches up to me or something, I hate english classes
