so my 10 yr old american eskimo seems to have developed lick granuloma. He's stained his white fur on the fronth of his legs from his constant licking and I'm wondering how to stop it.
He started in july. I was at camp for two months so my parents were taking care of him and he's been doing it ever since. I'm wondering if it's because I was gone, and he's scared i'll leave again, or could it be because he was getting so much exercise. for two months before camp I'd take him on runs for 2-3 times a day so he was getting around 5 miles a day. I've continued giving him regular exercise since but i haven't been going for that many miles, could it be from that too?
He certainly isn't stressed. he's socialized all the time (I've been apprenticing at a dog groomers and he comes with me to greet and calm the other dogs down). We always play and he isn't sick I've had him to the vets for hair loss from other things, and they don't know why he's losing his hair, but his blood and other physical tests have come back saying he's totally healthy.
so what do you think is causing it, and how can I get him to stop?
