Just cruising off the high of E3 2011, animated news has been a bit, well "flat". Fortunately there will be heavy break out news via Licensing International Expo: June 14-16

Personally, I excited for this event. Not only will we see more footage of Nick's new TMNT CGI cartoon, but we'll also catch a glimpse of Redakai: Conquerer of the Kairu and the new Batman animated series AND the new Ben10 series. New Green Lantern series and maybe a Ultimate Spidey may make an appearance. Share your thoughts, hopes, and speculations. Personally, I think "LIE" is gonna be epic.

Heh, we may even find Code Lyoko Evo news. Who knows.

Man, we need a REAL animation expo, kind of like the Tokyo International Anime Fair in Japan.
A nice place for animation studios to come together, set up booths, show their past, present and future work, sell some merch and be open to the public.

But I guess this will do for now.

I heard of that. I thought it was for people working in the industry, instead of for fans.
Did they sell merchandise off their properties and hand fliers for upcoming shows?

Man oh man...completely forgot about this thread.... Quick trip to West Palm Beach was awesome...anyways.

Its been a struggle to find some decent coverage on LX11. AnimationMagazine is my primary source for now.
I'll begin with rough bullet points...and breakdown into categories later on, k? Great.

  • Appearently a Ben 10 live action movie is in the works! Awesome? Who cares? Ugh? Take your pick. Yes, I to am aware of the 2 tv movies previous airing on CN. Yet this is going straight to theaters people. Big budget and all. Here's a link.
  • Our cries for more Disney action oriented cartoons are fortunately being heard! Yes we learned of animated projects via Disney Upront 2011, yet few pics were released. Until now...Slugterrianea. I was hoping for CN cable rights, but its cool. Art style looks crisp, yet 2 concerns come to mind. 1. Lower half of main charcter looks a bit meh. 2. Is the animation still in 3D? Every cartoon nerd corps develops continues to push for more realism, and its be awesome watching their growth as animators.
More updates laterz: stay tooned
