Libraries should not ban books?

I am doing a class debate on "Public libraries should not be allowed to ban books" I already have some information about the first amendment, anything else I can add defending it?

The libraries themselves usually don't ban books. The library board, city council or county government usually responds to parental pressure and then the ban is instituted. Where I live, they had both the Joy of Sex and the Joy of Gay Sex on the shelves where children could reach them. Parents were furious, but the library refused to remove them from the shelves. After much scandal and screaming, they decided to move the books to the top shelf. But they were not banned, which doesn't make sense in such a conservative state.

Libraries, Barnes & Noble, Borders and many other libraries as well as book stores already in essence ban books. Try to get your library to purchase anything that isn't ridiculously liberal. They refuse to purchase any conservative books or videos. Many of the book stores don't put out conservative books or manage to always be out of them, hide them, etc. It's ridiculous how the Democrats, Socialists and Liberals, though I repeat myself, always talk about freedom and do everything they can to limit free speech and discussion of open ideas.
