It's the same with every communist/socialist I knew in college. None of them wanted to be the farmer or guy in the factory, they wanted to be the policy maker or person at the top of the heap. Libertarians have this view that all the means of production and supply would remain in affect with a dismantled government. Like you can have your little fort without worrying about the concrete manufacturers who built it.

There is *plenty* of freedom in third world countries where you couldn't find a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of.
