factories? and not the clunkers.

Yes, everyone loves to plant trees, and pick up garbage, and be "green" and not be behind a 1979 pinto with a broken exhaust...but...wouldn't the factories with their big billowing smoke stacks be more of a problem for the environment rather than worrying about how long we keep our lights on in our house?

We have, and because we have, more stringent rules are in place for the factories that used to pollute without ANY regard for the public health.

Perhaps you should pick up a history book or newspaper to allow you to "keep up" with the facts.

Let the EPA handle it..the factories often have filters on the smoke stacks, that clean out the bad stuff, and the rest is billowing smoke but its free of poisons.

well, first of all, your question has no credibility. None whatsoever. I say this because of your asking this, uh, "question" of liberals, implying that the neocons have all the answers. Second, you must, by extension, be in favor of the cap-and-trade legislation now working it's way through congress, designed to make it much more expensive to pollute the air by the factories you say are polluting. Third, it's not so much that we are "keeping the lights on", but that we must produce that much more energy because some don't think we will ever run out of electricity and refuse to be conservative. (How ironic that it's the conservatives who are claiming climate change is a hoax, eh?).
