Lawrence SummersThis is the guy who said that women generally can't handle math and science and Harvard promptly fired him.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lawrence_Summers#Differences_between_the_sexesCome on, now, be honest. What was your opinion of him then, and has the "messiah" washed away his sins in your eyes?

Summers was right and I'm glad to see Obama support this level-headed man. What Summers said really ticked off women --- NOW asked Harvard to kick him out of being Harvard's President. NOW is angry at Obama for selecting Summers. He'll do a great job on NEC and informing people about the true strengths and weaknesses of both genders.

As with all people, including you, he isn't perfect. Since the vast majority of economists--even many on your side-- believe that he is absolutely the best possible pick for the job, I support him.

I don`t know much about him. But I don`t see what Summers being a sexist has anything to do with the National Economic Council.

"Promptly" is not the right word for the whole kafubble. But no, I don't like Larry Summers. Anyone with any half questions of him should google the Summers Memo, much worse than the women in math and science thing. However, he is a top economist that has distinguished himself a number of times. But does one appointment destroy the person? If Bush who was big on his appointments, yes. On Obama who is more about people that give good info and take good orders from him, then no.
