Please can you tell me why this amazing actor always gets overlooked by our beloved film Magazines(ie Empire& Total Film) its a long time since they did him justice and did a proper article on him, also when they covered Batman Begins did they give him a proper mention or an interview- the answer was no and the also a heck of a lot of reviews of the DVD of the Chronicles of Narnia didnt even mention the fact that he did the voice of Aslan, is he unfasionable or what ? If any body from either of these magazines looks at this forum, please do him justice and do something proper on him espeicially with the DVD of Breakfast on Pluto coming out on region 2 next month and his film with Peirce Brosnan coming out at the end of the year

I'm sorry but I've always thought he was a poor actor compared to the likes of Harrison Ford. I can't even think of a film I've seen him in where I thought his performance was memorable

If anyone can, please let me know :D

schindlers list? - i thought he was average in an amazing story that couldn't fail to win a few oskars (boom boom), but a lot of people liked him in it.

Have you seen Kinsey? He was nominated for a Golden Globe for that one,Also if he is such a poor actor as you say he is why would Speilberg be choosing him to portray Abraham Lincoln in his upcoming biopic ? Ibet you didnt know that one did you, please do some research before you post it would be rather nice eh ? :confused:BTW would Harrison Ford have had the guts to take on such a controversial role such as Alfred Kinsey(a sex researcher from the nineteen fifties who lifted the lid on America,s bedroom habits and started the sexual revolution which lifted off in the sixties),Harrison Ford would have not taken this role in a million years he simply would not have had the guts(to much controversy) Liam takes chances and thats why i admire him so much,if you want to see just how good he is Kinsey is on Sky Movies 1 on the 30th April-you might just change your mind, also has Harrison ForRAB mother ever recieved death threat for him taking a role? thats what happened to Liams mother when he took the role in Kinsey-not a nice thing was it?

I don't think he's been overlooked, far from it, he's starred in some of the biggest films of the past decade.

If (what you really mean) that he hasn't achieved critical acclaim surely that must be down to his acting skills and performance in the roles he has been given. Or do you think there is a wider conspiracy to overlook him?

I think he's a decent enough actor, but no Jack Nicholson.

Well then you're talking about media acclaim. He gets about as much as he deserves I'd say, by which I mean he's an OK actor, but nothing particularly special. He's decent enough without ever doing anything to propell him into the spotlight.
It seems to me that he frequently takes supporting roles, or roles where he isn't the main focus, such as Star Wars 1, Gangs of New York, TL,TW,ATW, Kingdom of Heaven, Love Actually, Batman Begins etc, which is why the film mags aren't devoting as much space to him as you'd like. The films where he is one of the main leaRAB all too often fail to set the box office alight and/ or achieve much critical acclaim - Nell, Rob Roy, Micheal Collins, K-19, Kinsey etc.
His greatest achievement to date in terms of lead role and critical acclaim is Schindler's List, for which no doubt he got tons of print, but he can't live off that media wise forever.

Personally I've always thought that Mr Neeson falls into the "Great James BonRAB we never had" catagory. He's only about a year older than Mr Brosnan and, to my mind, would have been the better choice for the role.

Er, I thought I had. Do you give everyone who responRAB to your threaRAB such a snotty reply?

At least gashead seems to have got my point.

Dont get personal you!! I wasnt being snotty!!,I put a smile on my reply to show i wasnt being snotty stop being so sensitive you should be glad you are not on my other board thats a Liam only board they would eat you alive for your comments i am being gentle with you, they like me are his fans, you obviously are not.

I love Liam Neeson, to be honest I dont think you hear that much about him as he is a pretty private person so they dont have a great deal of stories so anything that is written about him is purely about his acting. Which means that useless celeb (i use the term loosely) get a lot more press.

Personally I think he is great, I even sat through Batman to see him!!!

Harrison Ford was just an example because he's of a similar age to Liam Neeson (just 10 years difference).

I'm not a fan of Liam Neeson, as I said I've always thought him a poor actor. I've never found him particularly believable as an actor - save for Schlinder's List.

It would be impossible for everyone to like every actor, its a matter of taste and Liam Neeson is not to mine.

I have no idea why you're tellling me about the death threat though? It is a bad thing, but it doesn't have any bearing on my opinion of Liam Neeson.

i'm not sure he's that great, but he was fantastic in schindler's list and was, IMO, robbed of the oscar when they gave it to tom hanks for a fairly average performance for philadelphia.
