she has a different opinion? Lets face it, it's a case of political correctness, so now we're all for political correctness?
Thats the same sort of intolerance of others opinions and beliefs.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone who voices an opinion in favor of discrimination deserves all the negative treatment/publicity they get.

She has the freedom to say what she believes, but everyone else has the freedom to criticize her for it. That's not difficult to understand.

Why is saying something discriminatory against gays not taken seriously, but other kinds of discriminatory comments ARE taken seriously? If she had said something like "I believe the right to vote should be only for white people, that's what I was raised to believe" then the whole country would be unanimously slamming her, but as it is there's still quite a few people who say things like "She's brave for standing up for her beliefs, blah blah blah."

Please. If Miss CA had received a cookie cutter question and given a cookie cutter response and still lost, no one would know anything about her and it wouldn't matter. All of a sudden, everybody knows who she is and I'll bet you money that most people would easier be able to tell you her name before the name of the person who actually won.

The media is treating like a story, that's what they do, they're media, it's their job. I could care less what a pageant queen thinks about same sex marriage. What I do know is that Miss CA is riding that media train all the way to the end of the tracks and loving every minute of it.

In all fairness, I don't mind about what she said, she's enititled to her own opinion as has already been said.
What I DO mind however, is the way she said it.

She said it in an unintelligent way, so if anything cost her the crown it will have been that. She said:

"we live in a land that we can choose… same sex marriage or… opposite marriage."

She is either incapable of structuring complete and/or grammatically correct sentences, or she cracks under pressure, in which case she shouldn't representing the whole of the U.S (in my opinion anyway)

She is absolutely entitled to her opinion. But she knew when she stated her beliefs that there would be some sort of backlash especially when there are a significant amount of gays that watch pageants. She did kind of alienate gay people. She is entitled to her opinion and gay people are entitled to have an opinion about what she said. simple as that.

She's entitled to her opinion. Am I not entitled to my opinion that she's wrong?

The media has made it into a circus, though.
