LGBT Debate: Who are really putting on the act? The masculine men/women or the femme

men/women? I'm a gay male and I'm more in-between. I have feminine and masculine qualities. It all comes naturally. Now, don't get me wrong. I am NOT suggesting that gays and lesbians who are more "in between" like me are the ones that are "keepin' it real". I'm attracted to feminine, masculine and "in between men", I don't discriminate. I'm sure plenty of gays and lesbians can be extremely butch or femme by nature. But a lot of them do put on a show., not ALL, but alot:

Butch Lesbian: I want it to be obvious that I'm a lesbian, so I'm going to outdo the average man in the masculinity department.....although I'm not naturally that masculine.

Butch Gay Male: I purposely act more masculine than I naturally am because femme guys give gays a bad name.

Femme Lesbian: I purposely act more feminine than I naturally am because butch girls give lesbians a bad name.

Femme Gay Male: I want it to be obvious that I'm gay, so I'm going to outdo the average woman in the femininity department.....although I'm not naturally that feminine.

Personally, I think people should just do whatever comes naturally. I have NATURAL masculine and feminine qualities and I don't try to tone any of it down. I'm not a macho or a queen; I'm just being me. But what's your opinion? Who do you think puts on an act the most in the LGBT community, the femmes or the butches?
Gwennie B,

You do make an excellent point. But I never said that there aren't any extreme butches or extreme femmes that are naturally that way.

lol I think everyone should be who they are, and enjoy the fact that they are alive and able to experience all the things life brings them. Any whatever way you want to act, it is your choice and shouldn't be judged by anyone else.

And the only time that we should ever really look into why gay males are extremely feminine or gay females are extremely masculine is from a purely analytical and psychological standpoint that is not biased and does not judge.

I think I would go men in general over women. Women seem (to me) to take their orientation more in stride.

Men who are conflicted about being queeny can go very overboard being butch - and it shows. And the newly out femme guys sweat glitter and sh*t glowsticks to let others know they're gay.

Percentagewise, I think it's not as high overall. Once you get used to being out, you kind of forget about it.
