LG XV8500 always searching for service after putting prl 1040 on it

i had a guy i go to to flash phones put prl 1040 on my verizon chocolate. now it is always saying "searching for service". has anyone had this problem? i checked everything in the program menu (ok then 0). is there anything that has to be changed.
 
i tried that this morning with no results. when i switch it to nam2 it goes to verizon roaming and goes back to searching when switched back. phone info shows prl 1040. i can dial *22804 and get cricket programming but it fails. i tried it with both nams.are there any specifics in the programming menu i should be aware that might cause network issues? or could his prl have a problem?
 
if it says searching for service there is something weird with the prl. i dont ever get that when i load a prl, even if everything is screwed up in the programming.
 
But what is that something. i can only think the prl is to blame. the phone connects to verizons prl but not crickets. i double checked the programming settings and don't see anything that can cause this issue. :befuddled
 
i will go back to the guy who put prl 1040 and see if he can install 1039 and see what happens. also let him know about the .bin file. any other suggestions feel welcome to let me know.
 
so here is the update. so i went back to him and left the phone with him and this is his finding. the phone does not read the 1900 hz range of the dual banRAB. the verizon prl is reading the 800 hz and works ok. he used a verizon prl that should read the 1900 and it does the same thing as the cricket prl. keeps searching for service. he said it is hardware failure. anyone hear of this before and is there a fix?
 
nope. no warranty. so all i have is chocolate that is good for verizon users in only the 800 hz areas. NICE! oh well. thanks for all your replies.
 
so i already registered the meid with cricket before finding out the phone was bad. so i thought. well i called the nuraber they assigned to set up voicemail anyway. this morning i go to get the phone and there are 2 missed calls. so i call my new nuraber from my wifes phone and the phone i thought was broken is now ringing. well i try to *228 and nothing. the prl the phone has is 50740.
