Lg vx9800 trying to flash prl

I have 1.0.1 version of bitpm and im trying to overwrite the ucrrent prl to a cricket prl. It tell me blocked by service provider when i try doing this. any help will be Wonderfull. Thanks
 
You need to do some MAJOR searching and reading. You don't use Bitpim EVER for changing a prl. Its not even capable of doing that. There are other programs to use for that. Search loooong and hard before you end up bricking your phone.
 
Well i have read that people have done it with bitpm with there vx9900 phone. so idk. i cant get lgdownload working right everytime it opens it says something about serial port.
 
You just proved my point. You need to search and read more and make sure you comprehend what your reading. What people are changing with Bitpim is NOT the prl. Read closer and if LG Download is not working for you then there are still plenty of other programs that can get the job done for you but Bitpim is not one of them.
 
Can u point me in the right direction please. I have searched and searched for days and weeks. the only three program i have read and found is lgdownload bitpm and cdma workshop.

That would only leave CDMA Workshop as your last option. Have you even attempted to try and use it to see what happens?

Here's your shove in the right direction: CDMA Workshop will write the prl to the phone. Now its on you to figure out how.
 
@jramos: I have seen people report overwriting prl's on phones with bitpim, even with success, but it's definitely not the way to go I agree.

@AZBMXRIDER18: Use QPST, LGDownload, CDMA Workshop, or a few others to write the prl with minimum risk of bricking your phone.

I have too but I took it as being false since thats how I bricked my first phone back when i first started getting into this flashing ish so never again will I atempt it.

Oh my it seems we touched a nerve here. Well, to get back on message, let me remind the original poster that if you are to look at the sticky at the cricket forum, you can perform a basic flash on just about any CDMA phone known to man. If you are looking for a SPC code, Alltel, Verizon, US Cellular, and even cricket are "000000". Sprint, on the other hand, has to be found and even that isn't very hard. This forum will teach you how to get all of those too. But then if everyone who joins this forum searches instead of asking for people to spoon feed them, we wouldn't have anything to talk about but what we ate for supper. The following programs are gold in flashing:

-QPST
-CDMA Workshop
-QXDMA

Honestly, if you need any more help than what I just said here, you should pay to get your phone flashed before you end up having to buy a brand new one because you bricked the one you have.
