LG VX8300 Ringtones

I have a VX 8100 and I've put on a ringtone of over 700K and another over 500K (using bluetooth and bitpim). Both are the same quality, size, etc as the source, even after using them. I copied them back over to my computer and did hashes and other comparisions, the file is exactly the same. Also, the quality is amazing on the phone. When I copied the files over to the phone, I had to delete a certain index file from some other location, then restart the phone.

My friend just got a VX 8300 and we put all of his old ringtones on, which included midi and amr. After copying the files over, he restarted the phone, and all were available. No files to remove. None of them were over 100K, but the sound quality was the same as on the computer.

I highly recommend using either bluetooth or a cable. Why waste money/time/bandwidth downloading them via PIX?

I have a VX8300 from verizon and I loaded 15 MP3 ringtones on my phone.
I used a data cable, with a driver for that cable and the BitPim software.
You can use a wave editor to make your own ringtones from any MP3.

Can someone direct me to the proper type of cable to get and where to get it?

not that it matters, but i had a samsung a890 and bought ringtones from verizion. after 11 months i got locked out of the phone (i know many ppl who had this happen, but verizion claimed they never heard of it). anyhow, it was out of warranty and verizion said they couldnt fix it so they told me to buy a new phone and i got the 8300. anyhow, i asked them to give me credit for my ringtones so i could get replacements but they told me to piss off. so im not buying anymore from them.

Replying to my message helped me. I was able to send the ringtone but nothing would show up, as if the attachment was being dropped. Do you have any suggestions on the settings for creating the ring tones so I can get the best quality out of it? The ring tones that I have created sound static and I think I lost some of the volume by the time they get to my phone.

USB Data cables cost about $6 on Ebay. make sure it's for Verizon and your phone modle. I use Audacity ti edit my mp3's for ingtones and then send them to the phone with bitpim. I have the LG VX8300 V.3 Works great.

Just type in the search window (LG VX8300 data cable). There are plenty of them. I just bought one for my phone. Make sure the plug in for the phone has the correct notch for your phone. Some that are sold are for the older phones and have an extra notch (three I believe). The new phones have just two.
